InFocus has announced a new LP290 portable projector that offers 1100 lumen output at XGA-resolutions. It will be shipping in June at a street price of US$3,999.

Advanced Systems Concepts has announced a new ActiveBatch Wireless Client interface for their cross-platform job scheduling and management system called "ActiveBatch" that runs on Research In Motion Limited (RIM) Blackberry handheld devices.

HandEra has announced that they have begun shipping their new HandEra 330 handheld (US$350) to customers. Key features: Palm OS; 240x320 QVGA screen; CompactFlash (CF) & Secure Digital expansion slots; audio & voice recording; rechargeable lithium ion battery pack; and rocker arm/jog wheel for optional one-hand operation. Pumatech has announced a new time-zone utility package called IntelliZone for Palm OS (US$20). The package ensures that all email and calendared events reflect the correct dates and times. IntelliZone should help those traveling across time-zones, and those managing meetings with attendees who are geographically dispersed.

Socket Communications and connectBlue have linked in a recent demo a Socket's Bluetooth Card in a PocketPC handheld and connectBlue's Serial Port Adapter (RS-232) to wirelessly control a Lego robot.

The International Mobile Informatics Conference in Healthcare (IMICH) will be held July 28 in Halifax Nova Scotia at the QE II Health Sciences Centre.
