Socket Communications has announced a new plug-in solution that uses Socket's Digital Phone Card and enables wireless data transfers using the Ricoh RDC-i700 digital camera.

MediaQ has plans to announce very soon a new advanced graphics accelerator processor -- called MQ-2074 -- that has been designed for mobile devices. Key capabilities: support for data rates up to 112-MBs, and MPEG-4 & MP3 playback.

NS BASIC and HandEra have announced that NS Basic for Palm OS now supports HandEra 330 specific programming features and capabilities that includes programmable: high-resolution 240 x 320 screen, virtual graffiti area, and screen rotation.

Thinque Systems has announced that a successful mobile enterprise pilot project at Colgate-Palmolive that uses Thinque MSP for Consumer Goods technologies has been selected for nationwide deployment via Colgate-Palmolive's Retail Audit Program. Some key successes from the pilot project: 45% faster audits; 93% reduction in admin support; 100% reduction in reporting time; and 66% better broker response times.

Twin Paradox has announced a new 4-port USB PC Card called "Solar Express" that supports four separate downstreams up to 12-Mbps each.

Shinei has announced a new ClipModem for Palm m100 and m105 handhelds. The new modem offers: 56-Kbps transfer rates, V.90 standard support, internal batteries, and a retail price of US$100. Shinei also plans to have a MP3 player in a similar form-factor by the end of June 2001.
