Palm Ventures has reportedly participated as one of many organizations in a recent venture capital funding round that raised over US$100 million for a company called SiPix. SiPix builds low-cost digital cameras and portable printers.

Symbol Technologies' SPT-1733 (Palm OS based) and SPT-2733 (Windows CE based) offer built-in wireless WAN connectivity using Novatel Wireless data modems.

HANDHELD DATA SECURITY -- #1.) JAWZ offers data encryption software for Palm OS devices; and #2.) CIC has also recently released a digital signature sign-on and data access solution for Palm OS devices.

PC World is reporting that "Toshiba is working on a Microsoft PocketPC device," and that "Sony has plans to offer PlayStation games via mobile phones."

GoAmerica has announced that they will be offering Siebel System's wireless eBusiness application software products integrated into GoAmerica's Go.Web wireless data services.

DataViz has announced new localized versions of "Documents to Go" for Palm OS that works with the following languages: French, Italian, German, and Spanish. This package enables mobile users to view and edit word processing & spreadsheet files on their handheld.
