Fujitsu reportedly has a new notebook in the works for the Japanese market (expected to ship mid-Feb) that will offer a mobile handheld terminal that will connect to the notebook using Bluetooth wireless networking. For more info check out: www.fmworld.net (Japanese).

LG's new "Digital iPad" is a multimedia-savvy Linux-based tablet handheld that offers Internet access (email & Web), plus standard personal information manager (PIM) features and word processing. The English version of their press release can be found at: www.lge.com.

Sharp has also announced a new "pen-tablet" called the RW-A230 that offers: a 2 pound weight, a 6 hour battery life, an 8.4-inch LCD, an Intel Pentium II processor, and support for Windows 98/ME. The English version of their press release can be found at: sharp-world.com.

DDH Software is now shipping HanDBase RunTime for Palm OS that makes it possible for developers to build database-rich software applications for both horizontal and vertical customers. The cost for the tool is US$299, and there is a standard licensing fee that ranges between US$2.50-5 per copy depending on volume.

Socket Communications has announced volume shipping of their Digital Phone Card for Pocket PC devices and Apple PowerBooks is expected for the end of February. The card will support Nextel's all-digital wireless network, and the following handsets: i500plus, i550plus, i700plus, and i1000plus.
