The U.S. Army's Project Manager for Mines, Countermine, & Demolitions and the U.S. Army's Communication Electronics Command Acquisition Center have awarded a US$12.3 million sole-source, fully-funded contract for the engineering and manufacturing development phase of CyTerra's Handheld Standoff Mine Detection System.

Extended Systems' XTNDConnect Server makes it possible to link handheld and desktop systems (Windows, PocketPC, EPOC, Palm) to backend enterprise services like: ODBC-Compliant Database Servers, Lotus Domino Server, Microsoft Exchange Server, and Other Servers (LDAP, IMAP, WCAP/iCAL, and SMTP).

Communication Intelligence Corporation (CIC) has announced a new "Business Survival Kit" for Palm OS (US$40) that includes CIC's: JOT, QuickNotes, and WordComplete.

Bachmann Software & Services has reportedly agreed to continue their licensing agreement with Palm that enables Palm to continue to integrate Bachman's PrintManager into Palm's MultiMail Pro software application.

MobiMate has announced the release of a new utility called PhoneMate for Palm OS that allows quick lookup in the built-in Address Book application. One of the key features is that PhoneMate was designed for using with hands only, stylus free.

Tadpole Technology's Tadpole-Cartesia unit has announced a new collaboration agreement with Power Engineers to expand each others GIS technology solutions and services to a wider number of both public and private utilities (electric, gas, water, etc.).
