San Jose Mercury News has coverage of some new marketing and sales data of the Japanese mobile handheld market from International Data Corporation (IDC).

InFocus has released a new ultimate microportable projector called the InFocus LP130 (US$4999) that weighs three pounds, offers 1100 lumens, and features 1024x768-pixel XGA resolution.

AvantGo and Information Builders have announced a new 50-city seminar tour that starts on 21Feb01 called "A Survivor's Guide to Business Intelligence."

PixAround.com has released "PixScreen PDA Lite" that enables handheld users (Palm OS or Windows CE) to view "360-degree PixAround Scenes."

IDEO eyemodule is now shipping their "eyemodule2 digital camera" for Visor devices. And Margi Systems is also offering their PowerPoint presentation Springboard module called "Presenter-To-Go."

SanDisk has announced a new 512MB (US$799) CompactFlash (CF) memory card, and a new 128-MB (US$189) SmartMedia memory card. SanDisk also has new 256-MB (US$399) and 384-MB (US$599) CF cards in the works. All of these should be shipping to distributors, OEM partners, and retailers by the end of Q2'01.
