Insignia Solutions (a provider of accelerated Java solutions for embedded devices) has announced that it has secured US$4.7 million in a strategic private placement of equity from investors that including Wind River Systems.

Bachmann Software & Services has announced a new partnership with Macmillan Software to distribute a physical packaged version of Bachmann's PrintBoy v2.2 software (ISBN-1575954850, US$20) to the retail market.

Mobimate's Worldmate is a clock utility for Palm OS devices designed for extensive travelers that also includes a currency, metric, and clothes-size converter.

Audible has announced the availability of the new book (in digital audio format) entitled "IBM and the Holocaust: The Strategic Alliance between Nazi Germany and America's Most Powerful Corporation."

SanDisk and Zoran Corporation will reportedly partner to build MPEG-4 savvy flash cards using Zoran's "Camera On A Chip (COACH)" processor. It is expected that this technology will support SanDisk's complete line of form factors: MultiMediaCards, Secure Digital flash memory cards, CompactFlash, and TriFlash.

Handmark has announced the release of MobileDB Lite 2.1 for Palm OS, and a desktop version of MobileDB that supports Macintosh OS (Windows version was previously available).
