If you're a corporate user, or concerned about your data being backed up, Windows CE Services can perform a backup every time you synchronize with your desktop. Simply connect your PPC to your desktop and open the Mobile Devices folder. Select Tools - then Backup/Restore and check 'Automatically back up upon connecting'.
