Tip of the Day

PPC backlights can really put a strain on the system battery power when used often. A new set of batteries can be forced into a low power alert with just 2.5 hours of use with constant backlighting. If you get the warning, try turning your PPC off for a few minutes. Most often the warning comes up because the battery voltage gets too low with the excessive backlight drain. Turning the system off for a few minutes gives the batteries a chance to recover and usually clears the alert. However, be warned that another brief session of backlighting will likely bring back the alarm. Bring a few sets of new or rechargeable batteries for long sessions in low light. If your unit has an AC cord, bring it along.
